My 'cellos are set up by a reputable luthier, who carves the bridge and top nut to the right height and checks the pegs. This makes a big difference to how easy it is to press the strings down.
I put Prelude, Jargar, or Larsen Aurora strings for optimal sound quality and ease of playing.
I offer cellos of all sizes and levels, from Stentor 1, a good starter cello, to Prima 200, for the more advanced player.
I do also offer higher level cellos for those students needing something a bit more special.
Easily change the size or level at any point during the cello rental.
Areas covered:
Worcester, Stourport, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Birmingham, Malvern, Bewdley, Stourbridge, Droitwich, Redditch
Monthly Payments for Cellos, with a £50 deposit. Minimum Rental Period of just 3 Months. From there you are free to swap Cellos at any point without incurring any extra charges. Pricing depends on the cello (new or used), the set up (which strings and whether the bridge has been changed for a professional level one), which bow you want and which style and brand of case.
A great starter 'cello! Set up with Prelude Strings
The next level up, set up with either Prelude, Jargar, or Larsen Aurora Strings cello rentals
Another great starter 'cello, set up with Prelude Strings
For the budding 'Cellist, this cello will comfortably take a pupil up to grade 6-8. Set up with either Jargar or Larsen Aurora Strings With optional semi rigid or hard case for an amount extra, depending on which case you choose
Another great 'Cello for the more advanced 'Cellist. Set up with either Jargar or Larsen Aurora Strings With optional semi rigid or hard case for an amount extra, depending on which case you choose
This is the most basic'Cello you can get and I used to hate them until I did an experiment with one! I asked my Luthier to work on the Bridge and Top Nut (as usual, but thinning the bridge more) and put Larsen Aurora Strings on (£80 worth of fantastic strings).
The result was a remarkably resonant sound and an easy (but still very cheap) 'cello to play!
Most Courier companies will not insure cellos if they are damaged whilst in transit...and not a lot of cello shops know that yet! Please contact me with your postcode and I will give you a quote for using a good Courier Company (usuually DPD) The last thing you want is a box of wooden bits when your lovely cello arrives!
As I offer such a bespoke service with the rental cellos, and I like to service them at least once a year to keep them playing at their best, I don't at present offer a courier service for them (also see above about couriers). If you are struggling to come to me to choose your cello, I can come to you (depending on location) for a minimal fee (£20 plus travel costs)
