A passionate and experienced cellist, Sarah’s musical journey began when, as a young child, she heard The Swan by Camille Saint-Saëns performed on the cello—an experience that sparked a lifelong love for the instrument.
During her time at university, Sarah won the prestigious Concerto Competition, earning the opportunity to perform Haydn’s Cello Concerto with the University Orchestra at Birmingham Town Hall.
This accolade marked the beginning of a vibrant performance career, which has since included solo recitals, chamber music collaborations, and orchestral engagements.
Sarah’s passion for cello playing extends beyond the concert platform. With decades of teaching and performing experience, she is deeply committed to helping young players thrive.
Her belief that every cellist deserves a well-set-up instrument led her to found Simply Cellos, a venture dedicated to providing high-quality instruments tailored to each player's age, ability, and individual needs.
Combining her artistic insight with a practical understanding of what cellists require, Sarah brings both expertise and care to the process of matching players with the perfect instrument—whether they are beginners or advanced musicians.
