All my Cellos that are for Sale or for Hire, are set up by Anthony Nickolds Violins, a high class luthier, to ensure optimal sound quality and ease of playing.

This involves:

• Carving the Bridge and the "Top Nut" to the correct string height (most 'cellos are hired/sold straight from the factory) making it easier for little (and large!) fingers to play.
• Making sure the pegs fit correctly
• Checking the Soundpost is in the correct position
• Checking the tailpiece adjusters all work
• Checking the spike Endpin Button is inserted correctly

I then swap the cheap factory strings for more expensive and much better quality ones, making a huge difference to the sound produced, whatever the level (or age) of the player.

My 'Cellos range from the most basic level in all sizes (still properly set up!) to the More Advanced level of 'Cellos.

Strings Fitted: 

Prelude, Larsen original, Larsen Aurora, or Jargar, depending on the cello.

Bows: Many Options to choose from, basic bows to Carbon Fibre, Carbon Composite, or Brazilwood bows. 

Cases: soft padded, semi rigid with or without wheels, or fibreglass cases with or without wheels
